Wired article Use These Secret NSA Google Search Tips to Become Your Own Spy Agency tells that the National Security Agency produced a 643-page book Untangling the Web: A Guide to Internet Research to help its spies uncover intelligence hiding on the web. That Untangling the Web: A Guide to Internet Research book is no longer NSA secret, it was just released to public by the NSA following a FOIA request.

The most interesting is the chapter titled “Google Hacking.” It has few tips like this:
- Search for confidential Excel spreadsheets the company inadvertently posted online by typing “filetype:xls site:za confidential” into Google.
- Want to find spreadsheets full of passwords in Russia? Type “filetype:xls site:ru login.”
Be careful what you publish on the web and how you do it.
