WSL 2 + Kali : The EASY Way
One of my fellow hackers introduced me to Windows Subsystem for Linux, or WSL for short, and I have to say, this has been a game changer. In a nutshell, this allows you to run Linux commands from your CLI Terminal, without having to start a Linux Virtual Machine. What!!?
It was actually made by Microsoft themselves, so it is a legit product, which makes a lot of difference when trying to do things that are cross-platform like this. I’ll walk you through the steps that I KNOW work, because I’ve tried a few things, and after chatting with some of my friends, these steps gave us the results without the crazy hurdles. Let’s go.

Would you guys recommend Ubuntu for hacking or not
The common answer is yes, but why not just use kali
Sure.. its about tools..
Parrot os or kali Linux is much better
Kali would be ‘easiest’, since it has pretty much everything you would need in one distro. If you’d like experience, roll your own with your favorite (I use Kali and debian often)

I would reccomend to learn with Ubuntu
Learn about Linux, terminal, commands and using linux in general
Kali is a Linux based OS, but its not for beginners.
You should be proficient in terminal and Linux in general before playing with kali
Download Backtrack7 or the newest version of Kali. Both use apt-get and are built on Ubuntu

Deploy a SOC using Kali Linux in AWS
The Kali SOC in AWS project is a Terraform-based implementation that enables the deployment of a Security Operations Center (SOC) in AWS, utilizing the Kali Linux toolset for purple team activities. This environment is ideal for honing skills in security operations, threat detection, incident response, and training scenarios. The project is inspired by the original CloudFormation-based deployment by ZoccoCss.
