If you take on line level audio source and feed it to two or three (even up to 5) inputs using innactive splitters it works very well when the distances to those equipments are not long very and all the equipment you feed the signals are powered on when you use the system. If those rules do not apply, you might encounter signal quality problems (not always, but quite often). For all other cases with mich more inputs to feed or when distances are long and you can't guarantee that all audio equipment connected are always powere on, use distribution amplifiers and you will be guaranteed not to have unexpected problems. > I've done it before a number of times to two or three way but was wondering > if there were unforseen problems with going further? > One situation is taking the output of a mixer (stereo) to three or four > recorders and another mixer. > > also If it is OK surely if I was to add another line off (eg to a patch > bay)and patch off something else then that would attenuate the signal > somewhat and can I get round it by terminating it?
