You can dim low voltage halogen lamps using following methods:

1. A normal transformer to power the lamps. Connect a dimmer
   designed for inductive loads to the primary of transformer.

2. A normal transformer to power the lamps. Connect a special
   low voltage dimmer to the output of the transformer.

3. Use an electronic transformer (model designed to be dimmable)
   to power th lights. Connect normal dimmer to the primary
   of that electronic transformer.

Those were few tips to use.
