If you have an active subwoofer (one with amplifier in it
and takes line level input) then a shielded coaxial
cable would work nicely (for example that RG-6).

If you have a passive subwoofer powered by your main
amplifier or other amplified located in entertainment
center rack, you will need that 14-18 awg speaker wire.

RG-6 quad shielfed should be ok for active subwoofer.
For passive subwoofer use that spaker wire.
