NO SOUND FROM TV

Post by prash on Sun Aug 12, 2007 7:13 am

first check at your audio/video in and out RCA ports(av in-out).take out from TV & feed it to any amplifier: if you hear sound;the sound output stage of your TV is at fault and the IF stage is OK.Next give audio+video from VCD/DVD to your TV if u hear sound from TV;this time your power stage is not getting sound signals from IF stage(IF is faulty) and your sound output stage is OK.One more thing u can check: is there any indication of "click" in the headphones(if u have a socket for phones in TV).if yes; your sound out is OK.

My Proscan 36" suddenly lost its audio. No sound comes out of the TV speakers. I do get sound out of the Surround Sound when I bi-pass the TV. Can I repair it myself? What is the problem? Please help! :(
