Hi Tomi,

This is with reference to your reply posted on this website epanaroma.net.You had suggested a circuit diagram for constructing a Passive Aircraft Receiver from the link http://www.pcs-electronics.com/schematics/aircraft.pdf . I put in all my efforts and constructed this circuit. I have used a 1N34 Germanium Diode ,a 2 –legged trimmer of value 4-40pf and I somehow managed to get a ready made inductor of the value 0.15uH.On giving 9V supply to this circuit I am able to hear a loud noise and disturbance in the Headphone but I am not able to hear any particular frequency. I tried tuning it for several hours and I also connected this circuit with a five feet telescopic antenna and tried tuning this circuit at the roof of my home, but all efforts were in vain. Accept a loud noisy disturbance I am not able to hear anything. I have even tried moving the 100K Preset, but there is no frequency or audio heard.

I would thus request you to kindly guide me as to what I should do in this case so that I could hear a particular frequency or aircraft frequency (the purpose of making this circuitry). Also kindly explain what is the purpose and use of 100K Preset in this circuit and how to tune the same. Can we use a Gang Condenser (please suggest the value,if we can…) for the purpose of tuning in place of a Trimmer Capacitor.

Kindly reply as this project is on hold at the moment...

Thanks & regards,

Gaurav
