I tested Chip Quik SMD removal kit briefly some time ago.
It has beed advertised as breakthrough in removing Surface Mounted Devices, removing QFP's, PLCC's, SOIC's, and chipponents under 300 degrees Fahrenheit.
I tested the product with few SMD chips.
The product was easy to to use and quick to learn to use.
Their special desoldering material (looks like tin wire for normal soldering) melts well before 100 degrees celsius (drop it to water and it melts). When mixed with normal soldering tin, thebination will still melt at very much lower temperature than normal soldering tin.. thus theponents can be removed with reasonable heating.
With a normal soldering iron and this kit SMD ICs can be removed quite easily. This a good alternative to an expensive hot air desoldering iron when you don't need to remove SMDponents every day. The product did what it promised.
