POLL: Is there need for new discussion groups ?

Postby webmaster on Tue Dec 28, 2004 8:50 am

Do you feel that there is need for more groups on this site ?

For example WandererAlone had an idea that there should be a new "User Projects" centered around do-it-yourself projects and ment for registered users. The discussion on that can be found at
http://www.epanorama.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=1206

What do you fell ?
Should there be more groups or is the situation now good as it is ?

I think "DIY" (Do It Yourself) should be a part of ePanorama.net's arsenal as I personally feel it would be an added advantage over other resources, which at this very moment either do not match to ePanorama's quality & quantity....
That's my two cents.

DIY project

Postby Tomi Engdahl on Thu Mar 31, 2005 7:35 am

DIY proejct related issues can well be discussed on the existing groups as well. Anjythign electronic building related would well fall to "circuits and components" group.
If you are building something related to audio or video, then audio/video group is well suitable.

"DIY" (Do It Yourself) when related to electronics has always been part of ePanorama.net

Or do you think that there should be a DIY group with wider coverage than just electronics related topics ? Covering topics like DIY electrical installation, mechnical projects, woordworking, etc...

Hello Tomi,

I know the "DIY" projects can be discussed thoroughly in already existing forums, but the final project should be posted in a special forum where the author would give complete description of the function, it's component list, circuit diagrams, etc....

That way, people in dire needs won't have to collect bits & pieces & most of the times end up meeting with an error just because they thought two of the electronics' component might come together under 1 circuit & help him/her.

I hope I'm being clear about my concern here, Tomi.... if not, please let me know, I don't mind explaining it again in details..

P.S- Tomi, I emailed you a query, you never replied back :-(
That's my two cents.

I don't remeber seeing any e-mail from you. Sorry for that. Maybe your mail got lost somewhere between all those spam e-mail messages and got accidentally deleted by me or by spam filter...
