I AM NEW TOREPAIRING ELECTRONICS AND HAVE DONE SOMETHING STUPID, I GUESS. MY HP 720 JORNADA PDA HAD AN INTERMITTENT AUDIO FAULT. THERE WAS NO AUDIO OUTPUT TO SPEAKER OR JACK SOCKET UNLESS I PRESSED ON THE CASING ABOVE THE SOCKET. I PRESUMED THAT THERE MUST BE A BROKEN TRACK OR BAD SOLDER JOINT AROUND THE SOCKET, SO I REMOVED AND RESOLDERED THE SOCKET AND TWO SURFACE MOUNT COMPONENTS WHICH WERE LINKED TO THE SOCKET OUTPUT CHANNELS. NOW I HAVE NO AUDIO AT ALL. EVEN THOUGH I ONLY TOUCHED THE SOLDER PADS ON THE SURFACE MOUNTS VERY QUICKLY, WOULD I HAVE DAMAGED THEM ? PUTTING A METER ACROSS EACH ONE, I READ 150KOHM ON ONE AND 5 MEG ON OTHER. I CANNOT FIND A SCHEMATIC ON THIS PCB. HP WON'T SUPPLY ANY INFO TO ME.
CAN ANYONE HELP ME PLEASE.
MANY THANKS,
KUNIA
