Iron Sky is a science-fiction comedy film from the makers of small funny budget science-fiction comedy Star Wreck: In the Pirkinning (2005). Production of Iron Sky began in early 2006. I have met the film makers (they are from Finland) at Assembly computer festival when they talked about their forthcoming production some years ago. The idea of the film production sounded ridiculous at the time: from low budget amateur film to huge international production based on ridiculous sounding plot featuring space nazis from the dark side of the moon invading earth. It sounded like wow this has got to be the stupidest movie ever.
It seem that production has progressed well, and now they have the full movie ready. Iron Sky world premiere is February 11 20120 at Berlinale movie festival in Berlin Germany (they sold out huge 1700 people theater). The movie is expected to be theaters April 4 2012.
Look at the Iron Sky Official Theatrical Trailer. Believe this is actually a movie. It looks quite professional and pretty funny (look at who is the president of USA in film). What to expect from the actual movie based on this: is that it is going to be either be very funny or total crap.

“In Finland, nobody has done a film with so many special effects,” says Iron Sky director Timo Vuorensola, who estimates there were 890 effects shots in the film, roughly as many as in the last Transformers movie. “But our budget was about the same as the catering budget on the Transformers movie.”
