ELKOM 2013

I visited today ELKOM. There were very many stands there, but what I notices in the morning there were not that much people on the halls. For example on the main hall there were several presentation events going on, and each of them had only very small number of people watching the presentations.

I remember that years ago ELKOM used to offer more “wow” events when seeing something completely new. This time I did no get any big “wow” events. I felt that the event was more interesting some years ago when Finnish electronics industry was going strong and I did reporting for Prosessori.

Maybe one reason was that I has seem some of the new things already few weeks ago at MITTAUS & testaus. Or maybe electronics show as a concept is changing and maybe fading out in some way. In the Internet era you get easily almost all the news and product information through the web, so there is not much completely new to see on this kind of events.

There is still the people-to-people networking part still left on this kind of events (meet people from different companies and old collegues). There is still place for this kind of events, but their importance is fading.

Teknologia13: The number of visitors was a disappointment

Helsinki Fair Centre Teknologia13-organized a three-day event attracted over 12 500 trade fair visitors. This figure is significantly lower than two years ago and a disappointment.

At the fair included a total of 368 exhibitors. Also, the program had previously been interesting, but still hard at all speaker names are attracted to people like the previous time.

The next time the Technology package event held in the Helsinki Fair Centre 29.9-1.10.2015.
