Looks like Facebook & WhatsApp CDNs have been at least partially down. For example Facebook images are not showing.
Just fee days ago Cloudflare was down. And also Google has taken a bite?
Is it an outage season in US that affects peole all over world?
Who broke all the social networks? So far there have been reports out that Twitter, Instagram, Facebook are having problems.
Yes it looks like cloud service and CDN summer vacation period has started. Earlier this week this July trend was started with Cloudflare and Google cloud. And there are more problem reports:

On Tuesday morning, a large swath of the internet broke. The chat service Discord wasn’t working. If you went to Shopify, Dropbox, Nest, or any number of other websites, you most likely ran into “502 Gateway Error” between 9:45 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. If you tried to check if it was your own internet connection by using DownDetector, that wasn’t working either. Some speculated it was a foreign cyberattack. It wasn’t.
The culprit this time was Cloudflare—the same company connected to, but not responsible for, a similarly massive outage in late June that took down thousands of websites.
Google Cloud, Microsoft Azure, and Amazon Web Services, which collectively control nearly 77 percent of the cloud computing market. Thousands of other websites, apps, and services rely on these three companies, plus Cloudflare, to stay up and running.
Cloudflare’s chief technology officer said the service’s outage was caused by a “bad software deploy that was rolled back.”

According to Benjamin Treynor Sloss, Google’s VP of Engineering, the root cause of the event appears to be some incorrectly applied server configuration updates in Eastern USA. These were supposed to be applied to a small group of servers in one region but the updates were actually sent out to a larger number of servers located in neighboring regions.
When the servers failed, over half of Google’s capacity in the East was lost. As Google tried to squeeze all of its traffic into the remaining capacity, the resultant congestion affected multiple Google Cloud and API dependent services.
