Whenever you want to learn a new programming language or framework, you could start with one of these:

  • Text editor
  • 2D game – Space Invaders
  • Compiler – Tiny BASIC
  • Mini operating system
  • Spreadsheet (hard!)
  • Video game console emulator (hard!)
