The Consumer Electronics Show, or CES, is held every year in Las Vegas. CES 2022 doesn’t officially start until Wednesday, but the news is already trickling in. CES® 2022: The Countdown Is On. Over 2200 exhibitors are confirmed to exhibit in person at CES 2022. CES 2022 in-person exhibitor list had shrank lately with some big names getting out of in-person show, but there are still very many companies and on-line events. Actually CES 2022 is now in full swing with pre exhibition announcements that keep flowing in. Here are some links to resources what help you to keep up with what new consumer tech is revealed there.

Intel doubles down on hybrid chip architecture, unveils 28 new 12th-gen Intel Core mobile processors and 22 desktop processors
https://techcrunch.com/2022/01/04/intel-ces-2/?tpcc=tcplusfacebook
Intel has been a regular presence at the show and is continuing that with its run of news today, focusing on the newest, 12th generation of its mobile chip with versions aimed both at enterprises and consumers, alongside updates to its Evo computing platform concept, new 35- and 65-watt processors for desktop and vPro platform launches.
With some of the lineup announced back in October (it has now dropped the Alder Lake naming that appeared still to be in use then) today’s news is arguably the biggest push that Intel has made in years to promote its processors built for a range of use cases, from consumers through to more intense gaming, through to enterprise applications and IoT deployments.
Intel claims that the mobile processors are clocking in speeds of up to 40% faster than previous generations
The H-series of the 12th Gen Intel core mobile processors come in four main categories: i3, i5, i7 and i9. The i9-12900HK is the fastest of the range of eight and are one of the first from Intel to build performance and efficient cores together on the same chip to better handle heavy workloads. They come with frequencies of up to 5GHz, 14 cores (six for performance, eight for efficiency) and 20 threads for applications that are multi-threaded, and they also offer memory support for DDR5/LPDDR5 and DDR4/LPDDR4 modules up to 4800 MT/s. Intel says this is a first in the industry for H-series mobile processors.
They offer support for Deeplink for optimized power usage; Thunderbolt 4 for faster data transfers (up to 40 Gbps) and connectivity; and Intel’s new integrated Wi-Fi 6E, which Intel dubs its “Killer” Wi-Fi and will be available in nearly all laptops running Intel’s 12th generation chips.
All this will be available from February 2022, Intel said.
H-series, it added, is now in full production, with Acer, Dell, Gigabyte, HP, Lenovo, MSi and Razer among those building machines using it, some 100 designs in all covering both Windows and Chrome operating systems.

In the financial market boom years leading up to the 2008-09 crisis, nearly every mover and shaker used a BlackBerry (BB.TO). On Tuesday, the now $5 billion company pulled life support from the phones, saying the operating system would no longer be reliable for data or emergency calls.
BlackBerry’s selling point was email on the go. Top executives hungered for their “crackberries” and that allowed the company to charge premium prices. The addiction propelled it to an $80 billion market capitalization in 2008. Yet iPhones had already hit the market. With a more intuitive operating system and a vast number of apps, users started switching and didn’t stop.
Makers of early digital organizers, GPS devices and video cameras were likewise all gutted by rival gadgets that leapfrogged them.

BMW has revealed their new color-changing technology, allowing an entire car to change as if it’s had an entirely new coat of paint at the press of a button.
The tech was demonstrated at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) on the BMW iX, an all-electric car. The company is refusing to give out details on how the coating works – all we do know is that it is extremely temperature-sensitive, requiring a backup vehicle in the trailer behind it in case the show vehicle became too hot or cold.
In the two videos that have surfaced so far, the car changes from white to almost black, and then a dark ripple moves across the side of the car from front to back. The effect is remarkably smooth compared to similar technology that has been displayed previously – albeit not on cars – and has a realistic finish once the color is fully changed.
Despite how awesome the tech is, sadly it is unlikely to make it to public sale in most countries. Even if they get the temperature issue ironed out, many states in the US and nations throughout the EU require the relevant officials to be contacted when you change the color of your car. Any owners of this BMW would need a permanent hotline to the DMV if it ever made it to market. That is before we even consider the repair costs of one of these – body shops already cost enough, imagine if your car is covered in ultra-high-tech color-changing paint.

Uusin OnePlus ottaa ison hyppäyksen kameratekniikassa
https://etn.fi/index.php/13-news/13002-uusin-oneplus-ottaa-ison-hyppaeyksen-kameratekniikassa
OnePlussan piti julkistaa uusi lippulaivamallinsa 10 Pro näyttävästi Las Vegasin CES-messuilla. Pandemian takia virtuaaliseksi muuttunut lanseeraus esittelee uusimmalla raudalla varustetun huippupuhelimen, jossa huomio kiinnittyy ennen kaikkea Hasselbladin kanssa kehitettyyn toisen polven kameratekniikkaan.
Samsungin uusi ”fanimalli” – onko hinta-laatusuhde kohdallaan?
https://etn.fi/index.php/13-news/13003-samsungin-uusi-fanimalli-onko-hinta-laatusuhde-kohdallaan
Syksyllä 2020 Samsung esitteli kokonaan uuden konseptin älypuhelimissaan, kun Galaxy S20 -sarjasta esiteltiin FE- eli Fan Edition -versio. Ideana oli tuoda premium-ominaisuuksia kuluttajille halvemmalla hinnalla. Reilu vuosi sitten laite sai vuolaasti kehuja, nyt julkistettu uusi versio sen sijaan enemmän moitteita. Moitteiden syynä on ennen kaikkea hinta, jota pidetään liian korkeana.
Galaxy S21 FE on syntynyt hieman epäsuotuisissa olosuhteissa.
Näyttö on siis erittäin responsiivinen, mitä pelaajat kiittävät.
